Recommended. It's easy to clean and care for, as well. We make coffee 5 times a week, and we are now paper free. This cone is well-constructed, and we haven't noticed any more or less grinds slipping through.
It is nice to just rinse it and put it in the dishwasher. It makes a little more full bodied brew. We are perfectly satisfied with this product. It lets a little more of the coffee solids in than a paper filter and this is to our liking.
Hum. You really want to buy an endless supply of paper filters.or, just ONE.
I also purchased a new Zojirushi coffee maker at the same time, so read my review on that as well if you're in the market for a good machine. I can't imagine how much better/different the swiss gold would be if any. I am using a fairly fine ground from a good, flat burr grinder, and have had no issues of grounds/sludge in my coffee. I've been using this filter for about two weeks now. This filter fits the Zoji perfectly. It is solidly built, and with proper care should last quite a while. It is my first permanent filter, and I am very happy with its performance. I debated on the high-end swiss gold filter, but thought the price was too high, so I figured I'd take a chance with this one with free shipping.
The only negative I had read about it (that you might get some coffee grounds in the bottom of the pot) has not happened. I am extremely happy with this product. Definitely a worthwhile purchase. It feels good to know I am not buying, using, and throwing away paper filters every day - both for the earth and for my pocketbook. I recently replaced my Bunn coffee maker with one that has no hotplate but instead a thermal carafe, and I decided to try this permanent filter. I have found it easy to use and to clean.
